Changes At The Club
With all of the changes that have been occurring both around the nation as well as at Cornell, it would be remarkable if there weren't also changes for our humble Cornell Club as well.

The following is in store for our 2009-2010 year:

- A New President Matthew Nagowski '05 has assumed the Presidency of the Club. A Buffalo native, he attended the ILR School before living in Boston for a couple of years, returning home in the Fall of 2007. Chances are that you have run into Matt if you have attended a Club event over the past two years. Matt hopes that the Club can more broadly engage Buffalo's civic life under his guidance, and seeks any and all suggestions, programmatic ideas, and (especially!) effort from our membership base. You can email him at nagowski(at)cornell(dot)edu.

- No More Dues With less than 5 percent of alums paying their regional club dues across the country, the University realized that it was spending a lot more money trying to collect dues than it was taking in from dues. So the Club has agreed to go dues free as part of a trial program being tested at Clubs across the country, whereby all events are run at cost. But we're still going to have a benefactor program, whereby the Club can raise working capital and engaged alums can work more directly on our programmatic efforts for student scholarships.

- A Great Line-Up of Events for Autumn 2009!

On September 11th, bring the entire family as we'll be cheeing on the Big Red as the play Canisius in a free soccer match in Buffalo.

And on the 24th of September we'll be hosting a scholarship dinner at Cornellian owned Becker Farms in Niagara County, featuring Buffalo News Food Critic Janice Okun '54 as a guest speaker.

Then in October we will host our yearly Zinck's Night, partying with Cornellians from around the world on the 15th.

Many more details to follow!
